Bullet was a rescue dog. I got him at about 5 weeks old. For years we were inseparable, he even went to work with me. We could look in each others eyes & know what the other wanted without a single word.
When he became sick, it happened so fast, I was devastated. His diagnosis was leukemia. Within weeks, I lost him. In all my years, I have lost a lot of canine friends, but this was different.
I was with him when he died at the emergency animal hospital with my face on his as he drew his last breath. I felt as though I had been stabbed in the heart.
I had a bag of his fur from brush outs that sat on my dresser until I met catwoman. I knew I wanted to do something with it, but couldn't let it go. I'm hoping this bag will inspire me & give me the courage to do his shadow box.
We were true soul mates, & I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes I can still smell him. I like to believe he's still with me, watching over me, laying at my side. I had seven wonderful years with him & know I will see him again one day.
Well, my handbag arrived today, and I cried when I saw it - It is absolutely perfect!
Catwoman, I cannot tell you how much this means to me. I am truly at a loss for words. When I opened the box & saw it, all I could see was Bullet. Not just because I know it's his fur, but because you captured him in a way I couldn't believe.
I will treasure it forever!
